Where did we start?

My daughter Becky and I purchased some bead kits that she could make up to give as gifts for Christmas for some of our family. She loved making them and was hooked. I was then asked if we could sell some of the other necklaces she made to cover the costs for her orienteering training for the South West junior squad, and we set up a market stall. She was 12 at the time! From there I was asked if I would go on several wire working courses with her and I became hooked too! We bought lots of wire and practised our wire working skills and then we purchased more beads and our story was born.

From there, we reinvested, and we discovered more styles of jewellery to make and different mediums to work with. We have created a style which we think is unique to us and which is loved by our repeat customers. Over the 12 years, we have created our jewellery, we have made, and personalised commissions and we take great pleasure in creating and designing our jewellery and the enjoyment our customers take from looking and buying from us.

We still do market stalls at larger events within Dorset and the surrounding counties, we support our local Country Market in Sturminster Newton, and we support other local smaller markets closer to home as well. Our biggest event takes place at The Cheese Festival in Sturminster Newton every September. It has taken us a while, but now we have created this wonderful new website to take our business further and to show you our wonderful creations which we hope you all enjoy!

About Me – Liz

My name is Liz, and I have been making and designing jewellery for the last 12 years, and I love the creative process of putting stones and designs together and making the finished product. I find it very therapeutic!

It is amazing when people browse our stall and admire and praise our work and the depth and breadth of jewellery we have on display. It never feels old, and it feels great to know how much our designs are loved. Over the years we have made a large range of different styles of jewellery and have taken commissions which I feel is the highest compliment we can get.

About Me – Becky

I started making jewellery over 12 years ago at classes offered at our local jewellery store. What started out as my hobby, then became something my Mum and I enjoyed together. Over time, we made so much jewellery, we needed to start selling!

My Mum makes most of the jewellery we offer today, but I still love making the occasional piece and experimenting with more complicated wirework designs.

I hope that you enjoy wearing our jewellery as much as we enjoy making it!

Our Stones

We are so proud of our stones. We source them ethically from different outlets, and we still love learning about the stones and where they come from. Tanzanite from Tanzania for its lovely blue colour and its rarity. Labradorite from Labrador in Canada with its own inbuilt luminescence.

Boulder opals from Boulder in Australia and so on. When we look at stones, we always look for colour, cut and clarity and closely match all the stones we purchase. Some stones don’t need any adornment, and some need a little adornment to set them off! Some of our stones are very rare, but we offer a comprehensive range.

When we make necklaces we try to make matching earrings and bracelets where possible. Please take a look to see if what you would like is there, if not, drop us an email or contact us to see if we have the beads in stock.

As we have built this website, Swarovski has announced huge changes to their range of products and how they will be selling them in the future. As of January 2021, we may not be able to purchase more of the Crystal you currently see in our necklaces and certainly after January 2021 many of them will be discontinued. We will wait to see what Swarovski will be offering in the New Year and keep our fingers crossed!

Tips

To help you look after the finished product, here are some tips we can offer:

Don’t spray perfume directly onto the jewellery; this will affect the lustre of some stones, their settings and tarnish any wirework or metals involved in the making of your lovely purchases.
Likewise please let any moisturisers soak in before you put any jewellery on. If you want to clean any jewellery, try to use dedicated silver cleaning or gold cleaning cloths to clean. This will help to clear and brighten up any tarnish or grease build-up.
The last thing – try to keep your jewellery stored in sealed and or dark places, i.e. jewellery boxes. Daylight will fade stones and tarnish products more quickly. Exposure to moisture will also tarnish jewellery, so try adding those little silica bags you can get when you purchase handbags etc. This will help absorb excess moisture safely.
